Luke Humphries delivered a moment of pinpoint accuracy away from the match stage by taking on
BetMGM’s Eye of the Needle challenge during
Premier League Darts media duties, with Laura Woods presenting.
Explaining the rules before Humphries stepped up, Woods set the challenge clearly:
“Can they hit a bullseye through the eye of this needle? If they do, they get 100 points. A regular bullseye scores 50, and the green is worth 25.”
“That’s a bullseye”
Given nine darts to score as many points as possible,
Luke Humphries quickly found his range. After opening with a 25, he immediately questioned whether one dart had done more damage than he first thought.
“Come on… that’s a bullseye. Is that it? I don’t know. That’s a bullseye,” Humphries said, watching the dart settle.
Woods’ reaction confirmed it moments later.
“Oh my God, it’s in there. Wow. He’s got bullseye through the needle. One hundred points. Wow, that’s really good.”
“I’ll take that”
Humphries closed out the challenge strongly to post a 300-point total, clearly pleased with the outcome.
“That’s not bad. That’s not too bad,” he said after his final darts, before adding: “I’ll take that. I was almost close to three in the bullseye there.”
