Fallon Sherrock won the women's tournament at the WDF Las Vegas Open on Saturday. As a result of this title, the "Queen of the Palace" also qualified for the women's World Championship at Lakeside.
A number of well-known players had made the crossing to North America for this WDF tournament. Deta Hedman and Anca Zijlstra, among others, had also made the crossing. Zijlstra was defeated 4-1 by Sherrock in the quarterfinals. The Englishwoman then also won 4-1 over Paula Murphy before Wendy Reinstadtler was knocked 5-1 in the final. Reinstradtler had earlier defeated Hedman 4-0 in the quarterfinals.
Notably, Sherrock also managed to win the cricket tournament. In that final, she defeated Sandy Hudson 3-0, after Sherrock was earlier 2-0 too strong for Hedman in the last four.
