Over six thousand registrations for Dutch Open Darts 2024

As many as 6677 registrations have been received for the Dutch Open Darts 2024. The largest open darts tournament in the world will take place from February 1 to 4 in the Bonte Wever in Assen.

The event in Assen begins with a warm-up tournament on Thursday, Feb. 1. 688 men and 67 ladies have registered for that. On Friday, 1707 men's pairs and 174 women's pairs will start the pairs tournament.

On Saturday, February 2, the singles tournaments will begin. Among the men, 3422 players are participating, while 320 ladies have registered. In addition, 144 juniors, 49 aspirants and 23 girls are participating in the youth tournaments.

There are also sections for paradarters. Eighteen couples are competing in the pairs tournament for paradarters. Twenty-four people have registered for the wheelchair single tournament. The field of competitors for standing paradarters has 41 participants.

Tournament director Paul Engelbertink is proud of the high number of participants who signed up for the Dutch Darts Open. "This is of course a great result with which we have even overtaken the top years before corona in terms of participant numbers. Darts is popular and we see that reflected in the numbers. The preparations for this big event have been going on for some time now and we are going to do everything we can to make the 2024 edition another great party for all participants and spectators,'' Engelbertink announced.
