The
draw has been confirmed for the 2024 WDF Men's
Lakeside World Championship which is due to take place between Friday 29 November - Sunday 8 December at the historic venue in Frimley Green.
Danny Porter is one of a plethora of Aussies who will be a seed at the tournament. He is ranked first and he will face Francois Schweyen or Michael Cassar. Jimmy van Schie took WDF World No.1 spot prior to the draw taking place and will be favourite for the title. He faces either Patrik Kovacs in a likely tough clash or Bjorn Lejon.
Others involved include Neil Duff, the 2022 WDF World Champion. He faces Darren Johnson or Reece Colley. Liam Maendl-Lawrance, the German who made a splash on the European Tour last season albeit infamously will be involved. He faces Sybren Gijbels or Kevin Luke.
Peter Machin who is a former BDO World Trophy champion faces Mike Gillet or Kai Smith. But perhaps the main ties are in the first round including Matthew Edgar against quality operator Jarno Bottenberg. As well as another top tie as Paul Lim faces Moreno Blom. Both will be worth watching certainly.
There will also be a new champion if Duff fails to win, Andy Baetens won't return as he is now a PDC Tour Card holder. Also they have had to draft in many replacements due to PDC rules and top names such as Plaisier, Scutt and Gates taking up Ally Pally offers instead.
