From Wednesday, October 29 to Saturday, November 1, the WDF
World Masters 2025 is on the program. This WDF major is part of the World Darts Festival and will be played in the Hungarian capital Budapest, just like last year. Nice cash prizes are waiting for the winners.
The WDF World Masters 2025 kicks off on Wednesday, Oct. 29, with the group stage of both the Open and women's tournament. A day later, on Thursday, Oct. 30, the knockout matches up to the semifinals will follow.
The youth tournaments also begin on Thursday, with first the group stage and then the knockouts. The finals of all four categories - open, ladies, boys and girls - will be played on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The event is an invitational tournament, open only to selected and invited players. Participants in the open category include Rowby-John Rodriguez, Brian Raman, Francois Schweyen, David Pallett, Scott Mitchell, Paul Hogan, Arjan Konterman, Bradly Roes, Corne Groeneveld, Jimmy van Schie, Ron Meulenkamp, Ryan de Vreede and former WDF world champion Neil Duff.
The open category has the most
prize money to be earned. Upon reaching the last 64, players will receive a minimum of 125 euros in prize money. This eventually rises to the top prize of 10,000 euros.
For the ladies, two-time winner Beau Greaves is the big absentee. Deta Hedman does participate, as do Dutch players Anca Zijlstra, Kim Palstra, Laura van den Berg, Layla Brussel, Lerena Rietbergen, Megan Lucas and Priscilla Steenbergen. Mikuru Suzuki, Karolina Ratajska and Rhian O'Sullivan are other well-known ladies competing.
The women have to make do with slightly less prize money. In the women's tournament, a place in the last 32 is needed to earn 125 euros. The winner receives 5,000 euros in prize money.
There are also two more components for youth. The winner of the open youth tournament will receive 800 euros in prize money. In the girls' tournament, the winner gets 400 euros to take home.
