The WDF
World Masters begins on Wednesday 29 October and here is all the information on how to watch the tournament in the coming days, known as the longest running major in darts.
Jimmy van Schie will be the favourite alongside 14-year-old prodigious talent Mitchell Lawrie. Among the other top names playing include Leonard Gates, Neil Duff, Scott Mitchell among others. In the women's, it is open season with Beau Greaves not playing so Rhian O'Sullivan who won the Dutch Open will be favourite alongside Deta Hedman, Mikuru Suzuki among others.
While in previous years, the tournament has been broadcast on TV in both the home countries and further afield, it will be this year solely on the WDF YouTube Channel with select matches across the tournament from the longest running dart major.
It will also be available to keep tabs on through DartConnect and there will be extensive coverage also on social media through Facebook, X and Instagram from the WDF as well as here on DartsNews regarding the tournament.
On Wednesday 29 October from 11am, it is the World Masters Round Robin with players put into groups and then winning through to the knockout stages. The knockout takes places on Thursday October 30th with the final being on the 1st November.
Sunday November 2nd also sees the WDF World Championship Qualifiers take place with the final spots for this year's Lakeside World Championship up for grabs. In between on Halloween (October 31st), the World Open takes place as part of a wider WDF World Darts Festival between Saturday 25 October - Sunday 2 November with the Hungarian Masters and Classic taking place this past weekend.
This means that for the most part those involved this weekend have already been in Hungary for a few days playing in other WDF events. It is controversially for some not the set format that the tournament has been known for with leg play now replacing it. The tournament was revived in its previous guise for the PDC Winmau World Masters which takes place in January of every year now.
