Wessel Nijman capped off his sensational season on the ProTour by topping the averages at the final
Players Championship event of 2025 in Wigan. The Dutchman’s 116.87 masterclass was the highest of Players Championship 34 — a day that also saw some huge scoring power from
Luke Woodhouse,
Dirk van Duijvenbode and
Luke Littler.
Fresh from claiming the title with an 8–5 victory over Woodhouse in the final, Nijman’s numbers underline just how relentless he was across the day. His 116.87 average came in a 6–1 win over Adam Paxton, the standout performance of the tournament.
Nijman’s name appeared an incredible five times inside the top 15 averages of the event — 116.87, 103.25, 101.05, 100.70 and 100.45 — a level of consistency rarely seen on the ProTour.
The 25-year-old now heads into the Players Championship Finals in Minehead later this month as the second seed, full of confidence and form.
Woodhouse and Van Duijvenbode impress
Runner-up Luke Woodhouse was also in electric form, posting a 112.29 average in his 6–2 quarter-final win over Keane Barry to claim second spot on the daily list. Dutch powerhouse Dirk van Duijvenbode produced a 106.09 average in his opening 6–0 whitewash of Scott Waites, matching William O’Connor, who recorded the same figure in one of his best ProTour displays of the season.
Elsewhere,
Chris Dobey (104.33) and Matt Campbell (104.07) both cracked the 104 barrier, while Luke Littler added yet another pair of ton-plus performances — 103.53 and 100.56 — as he continues to deliver huge numbers week after week. Bradley Brooks (101.05), Dom Crabtree (103.68) and Karel Sedláček (100.47) also featured among the elite.
It was a fitting finale to the Players Championship season — one that confirmed Nijman not only as a double event winner in 2025, but one of the most consistent and dangerous players on the ProTour heading into Minehead.
