At the start of April, the WDF
Lakeside World Championship is set to take place with
James Hurrell set to be sixth seed.
Hurrell was part of the BDO World Championships in 2016 and 2017. He was also qualified in 2018, but had to pull out due to illness.
"I qualified four years ago but had to pull out due to my illness and got my strength back so I am so much looking forward to it now," said Hurrell to Tungsten Tales.
"It's all sorted now. Practice has been going well so yeah the form is good. I feel so much more comfortable than before."
The 37-year-old Englishman is the sixth seed exempt in the first round and then meets the winner of the game between the Belgian John Desreumaux and the Australian Donovan Lottering.
"I prefer going up there earlier, having a watch and getting in the practice room and being with all the others, it's good. I like being up there."
Denied Q-School chance
Not knowing that those Tour Card holders who were qualified for the WDF could still play, Hurrell was a bit frustrated that it cost him his Q-School chance.
"It'll feel a bit different with the PDC Tour Card holders in it but it'll be good, it'll be all the same."
"I thought it would have gone down the rankings to be fair. To be fair, it cost me. I could have gone to Q-School, never mind, it's just the way it is."
