The WDF (World Darts Federation) have announced the sad news on Friday afternoon of the passing of iconic Lakeside owner, Bob Potter OBE at the age of 94.
Potter acted as lead sponsor from 2004 to 2019 and also during the 2022 edition when the tournament returned to its spiritual home which hosted the tournament from 1986 to 2019 under the BDO banner.
Condolences to his family at this time. The WDF confirmed in their obituary that 'his legacy at the venue' will be continued over the next three years with the next edition of their World Championship being in December.
