Gerwyn Price continued his sensational run of form in recent weeks at last night's Premier League Darts in Brighton. His 115.97 average from his first-round victory over Chris Dobey ranks in the top 10 all-time averages seen in the event.
The Iceman was at the peak of his powers in his matchup with Dobey on Thursday night. Making it look easy, Price seemed like he just couldn't miss. Despite Dobey firing in a very impressive 103.27 in his own right, the Welshman strolled to a 6-2 victory.
Just the fourth man to average over 115 in the Premier League, Price joins the illustrious company of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright. It is van Gerwen in fact who holds the record for the highest average ever seen in the Premier League with the utterly ridiculous 123.40 that he threw back in 2016 when demolishing Michael Smith 7-1.
