Leonard Gates throws average of 113 and wins WDF tournament in United States

Leonard Gates took the title Saturday at the men's tournament of the WDF Tricoda Open in Solomons, USA, located in the state of Maryland. For "The Soulger," it is his nineteenth BDO/WDF title.
Gates made it to the tournament finals by beating Lance Koss (4-0), Hector Cumba (4-0), Tom Curtin (4-2), Aaron Jalbert (4-0) and Levi Bilger (4-2) in succession. Against Jalbert, Gates even threw an average of 113.43.
In the final he faced compatriot Alex Spellman. Thanks to two 15-darters, Gates took a 4-1 lead after five legs. Spellman then narrowed the deficit to 4-2 before Gates took the title with a 16-darter.
It was not his only title for Gates, as along with Joey Lynaugh, Gates also managed to win pair cricket tournament. In the final, they settled with Tom Sawyer and Bruce Robbins (2-0).

Leonard Gates is back in the WDF winners' circle after triumphing at yesterday's Tricoda Open.
'Soulger' beat Alex Spellman 5-2 in the final, recording 2 15-darters and an 89.95 average.

- ITV coverage is far superior to SKY It is excellent, always very interesting from an extremely knowledgeable team. I love Chris Mason, Jacqui, Alan and Ned, brilliant presenters and so enjoyable. ITV are also losing their absolutely fantastic Tour de France coverage. They do not get enough credit for the fantastic job they do. What the fudge do BBC do with darts? - I was always a fan of Rocky, another one of my heroes banished never to return....unless he changes his name to Anne. Andy didn't need to fix matches, he is a good player and wealthy. It sounds like too many people were involved in the bets, and it rather suitably circumstantial. Richie Gardiner has heat with Rocky. How can anyone predict where a player will throw a dart, I purposely avoided hitting 180 when I played as the organisation would pay £10 for each 180 hit to a charity I refused to contribute to. Modus is played in Portsmouth anyway. I've met Rocky many times and thank him for the great matches and memories....unless can he play in the WDFrichieburnettrocks01-05-2025
- Surely then as darts is ‘your job’ then do your job and less exhibitions even if they pay more, or retire and do the exhibition circuit. Appreciate that exhibitions are gauranteed income, you get your fee.
