From Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 8, the
Lakeside Country Club will be the battleground of the 2024 WDF World Championship. Although the final two days of the tournament will be available on TV, every dart thrown can be viewed for free.
The World Darts Federation (WDF) is considered the amateur association in darts. Dart federations under the banner of the WDF have organized several open tournaments during the season. The players who have performed best are allowed to compete in the WDF World Championship. In the men's event, there are 48 participants, while 24 women compete in the women's world championship. All operations will be
broadcast on GREAT! game's YouTube channel. This means that anyone with an Internet connection can watch all 10 tournament days for free, no matter where they are in the world.
There are certainly some interesting names competing at Lakeside; what about darts legend Paul Lim, who remains the only player ever to throw a nine-darter at this iconic darts venue. The darter from Singapore accomplished this feat in 1990. The men's field also includes Jimmy van Schie, Neil Duff, Moreno Blom, Matthew Edgar, Dennis Nilsson, Francois Schweyen, Brian Raman, Sybren Gijbels, Jarno Bottenberg and Corné Groeneveld.
Among the women, Beau Greaves is the big favorite for the world title. Although Fallon Sherrock, Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Mikuru Suzuki are not competing, there are a few other women who could potentially make things difficult for Greaves. The 20-year-old Englishwoman faces competition from the likes of Aileen de Graaf, Rhian O'Sullivan, Deta Hedman and Lisa Ashton.
As mentioned, the final two days of the tournament will also be on free-to-air TV in the UK. BLAZE (Freeview 64/Sky HD 164/Freesat 161/Virgin 174/Sky Glass 169/BLAZE App) will air live and uninterrupted coverage of the semi-finals and finals of the Girls, Boys, Women's and Men's WDF World Championships on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th.
