Maijer does not see PDC Darts returning to RTL 7 any time soon: 'Viaplay has no interest in sharing the rights'

Next weekend, RTL 7 will broadcast the Dutch Open. For the channel, this means a return of live darts after it lost the rights to the PDC tournaments early last year.

Footage of the PDC is not immediately forthcoming on RTL 7. "The rights are entirely with Viaplay and they don't want to share that for now. I have thrown some lines about it, but unlike Formula 1, they have no interest in sharing footage with us," Marcel Maijer, presenter at RTL 7, told 433 Darts.

PDC Darts has been on Viaplay for about a year now. What does Maijer think of the broadcasts? "I abstain from commenting, I think that's the most convenient thing in this."
