Kaya Baysal had a brilliant performance on the WDF circuit this weekend by winning the senior tournament at the WDF Budapest Classic in the Hungarian capital Budapest at the age of 14.
With this title, Baysal follows in the footsteps of his English compatriot Luke Littler. After all, it was Littler who managed to win the WDF Irish Open in 2021 at the age of 14, making him the youngest ever winner of a WDF tournament at the time.
Among others, Baysal defeated Barnabas Farkas (4-2), Jiri Brejcha (4-2) and Krzysztof Kciuk (4-1) to qualify for the final of the Budapest Classic. In the final match, Sybren Gijbels became the opponent after the Belgian recorded victories over Dalibor Smolik (4-1), Laszlo Kadar (4-3) and Daniel Racoveanu (4-1). The final was then a 5-2 triumph for Baysal.
