Mitchell Lawrie completes incredible opening win at Lakeside.
The WDF has announced that the World Masters will get a striking new venue in 2026. The fiftieth edition of the prestigious tournament will be held from 07/14/2026 to 07/19/2026 in Las Vegas, where the event will take place at the Rio Hotel & Casino. With this, the federation is deliberately opting for a bigger stage for one of the most renowned tournaments on the WDF calendar.
It marks the first edition of a three-year agreement under which the tournament will be staged in the American gambling city. According to the WDF, Las Vegas is a perfect fit for the status of the event, which has been regarded for decades as one of the most traditional championships in amateur and semi-professional darts.
The organisers expect the new location to have extra appeal for players and fans. Special arrangements have been made with the hotel for participants, offering rooms at a reduced rate and waiving resort fees when booked via the WDF. With this, the federation aims to make the trip to the United States as accessible as possible. During the six-day stint in Las Vegas, the World Masters is not the only event on the schedule. The World Open will also be played in the same week, and there will be qualifying tournaments for the 2026 WDF World Championship. The full playing schedule and further details of the various components of the event will be announced at a later date.
The WDF has also adjusted the qualification requirements for the upcoming edition. The updated rules have been published on the federation’s official website, where an initial list of seeded players can also be found. In the lead-up to the tournament, that list will be expanded as more qualifying tournaments are completed.
