Peter Wright produced the highest average at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy this past weekend. He hit a new tournament record in the Last 16 hitting an effort of 108.82.

Just behind Wright was Michael van Gerwen who unsurprisingly hit two of the top 10 averages in the semi-finals and final living up to what he says about getting better as the tournament goes along.

He also hit two more efforts in the top ten showing that it was a good weekend overall for ‘Mighty Mike’. Also in the top ten included Joe Cullen as well as Adrian Lewis and James Wade who produced one of the games of the tournament.

Lewis hit an average of 105.97 compared to 105.60 with ‘Jackpot’ pulling it out of the bag on his run to the final. Paul Nicholson who got to the semi-finals was not even in the top ten showing that big averages are not needed to go far in tournaments.
