Draw confirmed for 2023 World Seniors Darts Championship: Defending champion Thornton faces Scholten, Taylor set for tough McGarry test

The draw has been confirmed for 2023 World Seniors Darts Championship which will take place between February 9-12 at the iconic Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

Robert Thornton is number one seed and defending champion and will take on Roland Scholten in the first round. While 16-time World Champion, Phil Taylor faces a tough test in 'The Chief' Colin McGarry.

Other top ties include Glen Durrant facing Mark Dudbridge, John Part coming up against Co Stompe, while Lisa Ashton faces current WDF World Champion Neil Duff.

Terry Jenkins will also raise the curtain on the tournament facing off against two-time World Championship semi-finalist, Chris Mason. While former major winner, Kevin Painter takes on Ronnie Baxter and 'The Soulger' Leonard Gates opens up his account against Lakeside favourite Tony O'Shea.

Another standout sees World Seniors Darts Master David Cameron face Richie Howson who has been imperious in qualification since the start of the tour.
