Edgar picks Scott Mitchell for World Seniors Darts Championship glory: “He is a cut above the rest”

The World Seniors Darts Championship begins on Thursday night and Matthew Edgar has weighed in with his predictions for the tournament.

Going through the draw bracket, he came up with four names for the semi-finals and two for the final as well as the winner who he believes will be 'Scotty Dog' Scott Mitchell.

"Semi-final wise I think Scott Mitchell gets the better of Chris Mason, really good game. Expect Chris Mason to play well in this one, he's prepared well. He's had the whole month from commentary and media to practice and get ready for this," said Edgar.

"Colin McGarry beats Martin Adams and sets up that final with Scott Mitchell which will go the way of Mitchell. He is a cut above the rest. He's the classy player of the field in terms of what they have been doing in recent times.

"He's been playing very well at Q-School around 100 average mark, on the tour 92 average. He was very unfortunate to lose his Tour Card as the performances didn't really warrant the losing of a Tour Card. There are certainly players on the tour who don't perform as well as Scott Mitchell."
