David Cameron conquered the Master in 'The Power' Phil Taylor in a 6-3 sets win at the World Seniors Darts Masters and speaking emotionally post match, 'Excalibur' summed his feeling up as 'grateful'.
"Slowly it's sinking in but the only word I can come up with is grateful. To have a chance to play against the guys who made the game what it is today is a step in itself but to win against amazing players, I'm totally grateful," said Cameron post match.
Taylor 'one of the guys that made it great'
On defeating Taylor, he said that his legacy will always live on and that he helped pave the way for players like himself.
"He didn't play well in my opinion in the World's before but I knew he's better than that. He's got nothing to prove to anybody, he can throw his darts away and he's the one of the guys that made it great for guys like me. I'm very very happy."
"My darts finally came through for the most part. I still think they're a little higher level yet but definitely happy with the performance. This is something nobody can ever take away from me and I'm just happy and grateful for everything."
Possibility of becoming World Seniors champion
He believes also that he could become World Seniors Champion if he was given the opportunity to play in the tournament.
"I totally believe it, just give me that opportunity to get on there and do what I do so if I show up I'll do it."
