Howson determined to ensure his next World Seniors Darts Tour final ends in success: "It's going to happen sooner rather than later"

Having suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final of both the 2023 World Seniors Darts Championship and the 2023 World Seniors Darts Champion of Champions, Richie Howson is determined that next time he reaches a final, he will be the one celebrating.

"I think if I can get myself in that position again then it's going to happen sooner rather than later. The hard bit is just to get to the final again," Howson tells Weekly Dartscast. "It's easy to say I'm going to win the next one but just to get to finals is so tough."

Defeats to Robert Thornton at the World Championship and Leonard Gates at the Champion of Champions were no doubt disappointing but Howson wants to keep a positive spin on things. "Leonard went off like a steam train against me," Howson recalls. "I was 6-1 down in no time. But when I watched the game back a few days after, I missed darts in the first four legs so theoretically I could have been 4-0 up."
