Phil Taylor survived a match dart and had to come from 2-1 down to see off Colin McGarry 3-2 at the World Seniors Darts Championship in a thrilling tie-break.

'The Power' remains on at the Circus Tavern and he says he knows what he is doing wrong now and is working to correct it which he later hinted is to do with his eyes.

"I'm absolutely delighted obviously. It was a struggle, he played better than I did obviously. I missed doubles I think the third set when I was 2-0 up and he come back and beat me 3-2. That was the turning point, that knocked my confidence a little bit," said Taylor post match.

"I'm not as consistent as I used to be so I've just got to work on that now. I've been practicing brilliant, 140's and 180's all night but I didn't just produce it on the stage and I think I know what it is now."

"I'm not going to tell you but I know what I'm doing wrong. Something's changed that's what's affecting my throw."

He also spoke about the practice room dynamic at the World Seniors and hinted at the interview Darren Johnson did who expected to play McGarry.

"Most people think they'll be glad to see Phil out but a lot of people are glad that Phil's back in again obviously. They want to see you there, it's like Darren Johnson wants to play me tomorrow (Saturday). It's all good fun, it's part and parcel of the game. I was gutted when Eric (Bristow) retired and John Lowe wasn't playing like he could and Bob Anderson. They were with me for 30 years so it's got to be the same for them players."

He diminished reports that laser eye surgery had been done but that it was to do with a cataract and spoke about how that has affected his game.

"My eyes are too good now, that's the problem. I had a lens replacement, I had a cataract on. I never had laser. It's great but it's different because I used to be left handed dominant, now I've got no dominant eye. I realized that when I was halfway through the game. I thought you're not the same, you're not holding the dart the same so I've got to work on that now."
