Impressive Painter reaches Quarter-Finals at World Seniors Darts Championship

Kevin Painter has become the first player to qualify for the Quarter-Finals at the World Seniors Darts Championship in Purfleet. The Artist triumphed surprisingly easily 3-0 in sets against Wayne Warren.

Painter, winner of the Players Championship Finals in 2011, did not even concede a leg against the last BDO World Champion in 2020. The difference in level was simply too big for that, with a 94.59 average for Painter against 75.52 for Warren.

Painter still had to get his scoring going in the first set, but with finishes of 100 and 131, the first set went 3-0 to the former major champion. Painter then threw two 15-darters and a 14-darter to take the second set as well.

In the third set, the 54-year-old Englishman quickly took a 2-0 lead. Then he threw a 13-darter to close out the match. Painter will face either Phil Taylor or Peter Manley in the Quarter-Finals on Saturday evening.
