Martin Adams has made it into the last eight at the
World Seniors Darts Championship. In his baptism of fire at the magical Circus Tavern in Purfleet, he beat
Richie Howson 3-2 in sets.
The 65-year-old Adams has played in many darts venues in his long career, but the iconic Circus Tavern was still missing from his list. This is mainly due to the fact that Wolfie never made the switch to the PDC.
Adams looked a bit uncomfortable and nervous in the first set, but started to grow into the match. The first set went 3-1 to Howson, but then Wolfie hit back with a 14-darter and a 15-darter to win set two 3-1.
However, the three-time Lakeside champion then fell behind again as Howson took the third set 3-2. The fourth set proved to be a masterclass in finishing for Adams. He threw out 136, 150 and 157 to force a deciding set.
Adams then took a 2-0 lead in the final set, which he finished impressively with a 153 check-out. Wolfie will play Keith Deller or Larry Butler in the Quarter-Finals on Saturday night.
