From February 19 to 22, the 2025 World Seniors Darts Championship is scheduled to take place in Purfleet. With a total prize pot of £73,000, the tournament will be played at the Circus Tavern not only for the prestige of the trophy, but also for a very nice cash prize.
For the 24 of the 28 participants, the battle begins as early as the first round, in which the losers receive a consolation prize of £750. It is an amount that can cover travel expenses, but of course is not the reward the players come for. Winning a match and reaching the second round increases that amount to £1,000.
The big jumps in money start only in the later rounds. Making it to the quarterfinals earns £2,000, and a place in the last four is good for £4,000. This is when players really start dreaming of the top prize, as the final spot is then just one step away.
The finalist who falls just short of the senior world title will receive £10,000 in prize money. However, that is only a small portion of the winner's amount, as the senior world champion takes home a massive £30,000.
