Ross Montgomery has been crowned the 2025 World Seniors Darts Championship winner at the Circus Tavern, bagging the top prize of £30,000 in the process! 'The Boss' defeated Graham Usher 5-1 in the final on Saturday night to follow in the footsteps of past champions John Henderson and Robert Thornton, continuing the run of Scottish winners.

With this being the first world final for both players, there were some understandable nerves on show early doors. Montgomery eventually took the opening leg on double 1 though, and that seemed to settle the Scot as he opened the second leg with five perfect darts before eventually taking it in twelve darts. Moments later the set was sealed by the Scot.

Usher finally got off the mark himself in the second set, eventually pinning double 5 after a handful of missed darts on the outer ring. After the relief of that first double though, the Englishman then seemed settled at last, taking the second set in relative comfort to level the contest.

In a tight third set, it went all the way to a deciding leg. In it, Montgomery had the advantage of throw but the Scot simply couldn't live with the scoring power of Usher. After Usher blew 9 set darts though, it was the Scot that sealed the set.

Despite Usher going six perfect darts into the nine in the fourth set, his spurt wasn't enough to seal the set as Montgomery moved 3-1 clear, just two away from the win. There was genuine tension brewing on stage between the pair though, with Usher getting visibly frustrated at his opponent. Usher was letting his frustrations get the better of him though, with Montgomery punishing his opponent loss of focus to head into the second break with a clear 4-1 lead.

Montgomery punished more Usher misses to take the opening leg of set 6. A 14-dart hold of throw then moved Montgomery to one leg away from the win. Although Usher pulled one leg back, Montgomery left 81 after nine darts on his own darts before eventually sealing the win and the World Seniors Championship title!
