Schedule and preview Saturday afternoon session 2023 World Seniors Champion of Champions including Taylor, Adams and Thornton

A new tournament gets underway on Saturday afternoon with the 2023 World Seniors Champion of Champions, a new concept by WSDT but in another spiritual home of darts in Blackpool.

Taking place not at the Winter Gardens but VIVA! Blackpool who dub themselves the Vegas Venue in the heart of Blackpool. Well the names have certainly flooded to the two day tournament.

Phil Taylor, the 16-time World Matchplay returns to one of his best loved darting destinations but after indifferent form at times in these tournaments - it is 'Soulger' Leonard Gates who awaits.

Travelling from Dallas thousands of miles just to play the one-shot qualifier, he went all the way and hit a 109 average en route against Ronnie Baxter. A true darting entertainer, he has had fans in the palm of his hand at both Ally Pally and Circus Tavern but will he shut off the Power by The Tower?

David Cameron saw off Taylor last year at Lakeside in the World Seniors Darts Masters and has another opportunity as a result, he faces Kevin Painter who like Richie Howson received his form his superb run at the Circus Tavern. He lost to Robert Thornton in the semi-finals.

'The Thorn' will look to make it almost a clean sweep after making it two World titles and a Matchplay with only the Masters and this new tournament missing. He starts off in a repeat of the World final against Richie Howson.

While concluding the session, two of the previous BDO's most successful players in 10-time World Champion, Trina Gulliver faces three time winner, Martin Adams. It's Tungsten Time once more as more darting history will be made but who takes home the title? Saturday afternoon begins that with the Quarter-Finals taking place.
