Saturday afternoon marks the start of the second round at the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship. After the exit of 16-time world champion Phil Taylor and title favorite Leonard Gates, among others, there are 16 contenders remaining for the overall victory.
The afternoon kicks off with a true cracker between Kevin Painter and John Henderson. The latter won easily 3-1 over Trina Gulliver in the first round, while Painter survived an 0-2 deficit against Jim McEwan.
There is one female player left in the tournament. Lisa Ashton beat Michael Huntley (3-2) in the first round. In the second round she will meet former Lakeside champion Scott Mitchell, who defeated Matt Clark (3-1).
Martin Adams, like Painter, managed to make up an 0-2 deficit in the first round. 'Wolfie' did so against Deta Hedman, allowing him to take on Jim Long. The Canadian came out on top in the Canadian clash with David Cameron (3-1).
In the final match of the afternoon, former World Championship finalist Mark Dudbridge faces Richie Howson. They won in the first round against Glen Durrant (3-2) and John Part (3-0), respectively.
