Phil Taylor's legendary World Championship career ends in a disappointing defeat to Manfred Bilderl

Phil Taylor won 2 BDO world titles and 14 PDC world titles in his career, but a senior world title will forever be missing from his record. On Friday night, 'The Power' lost to Manfred Bilderl (3-2) in the first round of his final World Seniors Darts Championship.

It was Taylor's last participation in the senior World Championship. The English darts legend has announced he is putting away his darts for good after this year. Taylor got off to a very bad start, but still managed to bring a 0-2 deficit back to 2-2. After Taylor won the first leg of the fifth set, things still went wrong for the Englishman. Bilderl took three legs in a row to win the deciding set 3-1.

In the last match of the first round, Richie Howson managed to qualify for the second round. Last year's losing finalist proved too strong with 3-0 in sets to three-time world champion John Part.
