Wallace strikes Lowe blow as Quarter-Final clash with Taylor set up at World Seniors Darts Masters

Les Wallace has set up a Quarter-Final tie with Phil Taylor tomorrow afternoon at the World Seniors Darts Masters after starting his campaign with victory over John Lowe.

It was a win that should have been more comfortable for 'McDanger' as he allowed Lowe in after a spate of missed doubles from 'Old Stoneface' and a set was sealed from there but that was a mere consolation.

Lowe had a poor start and albeit with both throwing at a pedestrian pace, Wallace raced through the opening set averaging around 81 in the early going as he took the game to a slow starting ‘Old Stoneface’.

Wallace handed Lowe an opportunity to break but he missed a dart at double 20 and ‘McDanger’ held throw. Lowe still couldn’t get off the mark and despite missing 85 for the set, Wallace returned for double 20 to make it 2-0 in sets.

Lowe continued to have chances to seal a leg before finally doing so on double one to hold. A 61 checkout saw Wallace level up. Lowe missed set darts but as did Wallace to make it 3-0 and Lowe had more chance to make it 2-1 which he took.

Wallace pinned double 10 to go 1-0 up in the fourth set and was imperious on the scoring phase to go 3-1 up in sets.

Lowe added another leg to hold but Wallace produced a 98 checkout as he looked to surge to victory. Wallace after initially missing match darts finally sealed the deal on double 20 to move through.
