Larry Butler is the new leader in the Remote Darts League after the former World Matchplay champion had an unbeaten Night Five.
Butler began proceedings by easing past compatriot Joe Chaney 6-1 - who is now second himself in the Remote Darts League albeit due to playing more than everyone else.
He followed that up by defeating Lorraine Winstanley in a 6-0 win and his final hurdle was Jim Williams but he couldn’t make it a clean sweep with a 5-5 draw in the offing go end the night.
Williams is now into third with seven points after suffering his first defeat to Joe Chaney, batting that his evening saw more points added to the board on his second straight night.
In the first phase of the Remote Darts League which sees twenty evenings, all participants play against each other once. Four players are involved per night, with each player completing three matches. Matches are best of 10 legs, so a 5-5 draw is possible.
After twenty days of action, the top four in the league will advance to the playoffs, which are scheduled for Monday, June 8.
