Two more players are into the third round to end the fourth day at the 2020 BDO World Championship with Scott Mitchell and Ryan Hogarth making it through.
Mitchell was facing off against Leighton Bennett in a highly talked about game but it was experience which prevailed in the end for the former World Champion who claimed a 3-1 win.
'Scotty Dog' claimed the first set for a 116 checkout to take a 1-0 lead. By the second set, Bennett was sinking fast and was throwing well but had yet to claim a leg.
This all changed though with 'Boom Boom' claiming the next set and rattling Mitchell as a result. Despite that the latter found an extra gear to ease past Bennett.
In Hogarth against Tricole, it was a scrappy game but it was the former that saw off the Frenchman in a 3-1 victory.
Tricole missed a lot of chances throughout the tie and was punished for it allowing 'The Headhunter' to make light work of his opponent and move through to the Last 16 where he will face Jim Williams.
