Jose de Sousa and Chris Dobey are both through in the next confirmed Quarter-Final at the Danish Darts Open with both players coming through in convincing victories.
Dobey came through in a 6-2 victory over Kirk Shepherd to reach the latter stages of a European Tour event for the first time this season.
He averaged 97 and hit four 180’s en route to defeat the former World Championship finalist who dumped out Rob Cross on Saturday night. His scoring was what did it for ‘Hollywood’ with his double percentage only at 33 percent.
This is compared to Shepherd who hit 40 percent of his doubles but he was only given five attempts throughout the match.
De Sousa continued to impress during his victory over Daryl Gurney on his European Tour debut; his scoring like Dobey was excellent with five 180’s and a 100 average.
‘Superchin’ as a result was given little opportunity to mount a challenge against the impressive Portuguese ace despite averaging 97 himself and compared to the last two matches De Sousa has played in, he missed seven match darts but Gurney couldn’t mount a comeback and it was an easy win for him in the end.
