The evening session on Thursday at Lakeside is complete with Glen Durrant coming through a thriller and Anastasia Dobromyslova breezing past Aileen de Graaf to set up a semi-final with Lorraine Winstanley.
Durrant raced three sets clear but Baker pulled it back to 3-3 before Durrant won the seventh and final set when it looked like Baker would claim the win.
This could be the real test Duzza needed as he mounts a title defence to claim three World titles in a row before moving to the PDC.
Dobromyslova will face Winstanley, a close friend of the multiple time Ladies World Champion after seeing off De Graaf. Her first 9-dart average is 101.90 and she had 21 scores of 130 or more; including her three 180’s showing how good she played in a second consecutive 2-0 win.
