Michael van Gerwen has claimed the last Euro Tour event of the year, his 6th overall for this year and his 20th career Euro Tour.
He once again defeated Rob Cross who he beat in the German Darts Grand Prix recently to deny ‘Voltage’ one of the only types of titles he has not won this year and to cement his place at the top of the European order of merit ahead of the European Championship towards the end of the month.
His 6-4 win included some stunning checkouts including a 160, 150 & 100 checkout proved pivotal for Mighty Mike who silences any critics after recent early Major exits and Cross will go again knowing that apart from the Grand Slam he has qualified for every Major for the rest of the year so there is scope to end the year on an even bigger high.
