Colin Osborne emerges group winner in MODUS Super Series by a wide margin

Colin Osborne became the first player to secure a spot on the final night in the sixth week of play in the MODUS Super Series 10 by taking the win in Group A.
On Wednesday, the final matches were played in this group. After winning all of his five matches on Monday and adding four more wins to his total on Tuesday, Osborne managed to win four of his five matches again on Wednesday. As a result, he finished in first place by a long distance with 26 points. Behind him, Leonard Gates (eighteen points) and Barry Copeland (sixteen points) finished second and third, respectively.
Gates and Copeland, like Noa-Lynn van Leuven, Peter Wachiuri and Donny Scheurwater, will get another retake in another group later this week to qualify for the final group. Gates and Copeland enter Group B, where they will be joined by Scott Campbell, Gemma Hayter and Jamie Lewis. Van Leuven, Wachiuri and Scheurwater join Martin Thomas, Kevin Burness and Karl Coleman in Group C.
What is the MODUS Super Series?
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament with 12 players competing from Monday through Friday for a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. A week of play begins with six players competing in Group A. They play against each other once each on the first three days of play. The winner of this pool is directly through to finals night.
The numbers two and three will enter Group B with three new players. They will play each other on Thursday and Friday, after which the top three of this group may also prepare to participate in the final night. The numbers four, five and six from Group A advance to Group C, where they too will be joined by three other players. Two more players from this pool will advance to the final night.
The final night is played on Saturday night starting at 10 p.m. where players compete in a small group stage with two groups of three players, followed by semi-finals and a final to determine the weekly winner. After twelve weeks of competition, all the weekly winners compete in "Champions Week," which is played every thirteen weeks of play to determine who wins the series and takes home the top prize of 25,000 pounds.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
