Rene Eidams grabbed the weekly title Saturday night after a comeback during the tenth week of play of the
MODUS Super Series in Portsmouth.
A new competition is played each week in the MODUS Super Series. The best six players from the first five days of play met Saturday divided into two pools during the final day of the eighth week of play.
In Group A were Rene Eidams, Rob Grundy and Steve Brown. All three managed one win, but on the basis of leg balance, Eidams and Brown advanced to the semifinals.
Also in Group B with Darren Johnson, Jon Worsley and Darryl Pilgrim, all players managed to reach one win. Johnson had the worst leg balance in this pool and thus dropped out.
Brown then won 4-1 over Worsley in the semifinals, while Eidams prevailed 4-2 against Pilgrim. Brown then appeared to be on his way to the weekly title by grabbing a 3-0 lead in the final, but then Eidams strung together four legs to crown himself the weekly winner.
