Keegan Brown secured the Week 2 title in the
MODUS Super Series this past weekend, topping the field on Saturday night to claim the £5,000 bonus. The victory also earns “The Needle” a place in the upcoming Champions Week, where he will battle later this season for the overall crown and the £25,000 grand prize.
The final night began with the group stage, where the six remaining players were split into two groups. Brown and Jimmy van Schie met in the group phase, with the Englishman edging out a 4–3 win. Having already defeated Dan Hands 4–1, Brown topped the group, while Van Schie advanced in second place courtesy of his 4–1 victory over Hands.
In the other group, all three players picked up one win apiece. Lewis Gurney opened with a 4–2 defeat against Richie Burnett but bounced back to beat Jim McEwan 4–2. McEwan, however, had earlier swept Burnett 4–0, leaving the Welshman eliminated on leg difference.
Brown turned on the style in the semi-finals, whitewashing Gurney 4–0 with a superb 100.20 average and a clinical 67% checkout rate. Van Schie booked his spot in the final by edging McEwan 4–3, setting up a rematch with Brown.
The final saw Brown strike first with a stunning 152 checkout, finishing via two treble 19s and double 19. Van Schie broke straight back in the fourth leg, but Brown responded immediately, producing a brilliant 129 finish to regain control. He sealed the title 4–2 with an 86 checkout to lift the Week 2 crown.
What is the MODUS Super Series?
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly competition featuring 12 players battling from Monday to Saturday for a place in the final group. The action begins with Group A, where six players compete across the first three days. The group winner advances straight to Saturday’s finals night.
The second and third-placed players from Group A move into Group B alongside three fresh entrants, playing Thursday and Friday for three more finals night places. The remaining three players from Group A drop into Group C with three new contenders, with two more finals night berths up for grabs.
Saturday night’s showpiece begins at 10:00pm with two groups of three players, followed by semi-finals and a final to determine the weekly champion. After 12 weeks of competition, all weekly winners return for Champions Week in Week 13, where they compete for the overall series victory and a £25,000 top prize.
