Czech Darts Open 2026 Roundup - Luke Littler ends Luke Humphries' Prague reign to claim 30th PDC title of his career on European Tour return

Luke Littler marked his return to the European Tour in spectacular fashion by beating Luke Humphries 8-6 in the final of the 2026 Czech Darts Open, denying his great rival another title in Prague and claiming the 30th PDC title of his career.

In the first European Tour final ever contested between the pair, Littler came through a gripping battle after initially moving 2-0 ahead, then falling 4-3 behind as Humphries threatened to extend his remarkable record in Czechia.

Four consecutive legs eventually put Littler 7-4 ahead, but Humphries refused to surrender his crown. The defending champion won two legs on the spin and then broke throw to make it 7-6, only for missed chances at double 16 in the deciding stages to prove costly. Littler returned to double 10 to complete the 8-6 victory with a 95.25 average, edging Humphries' 94.81.

The title came on Littler's first European Tour appearance for six months and brought Humphries' latest Prague reign to an end after the former world champion had arrived at the final chasing a third successive Czech Darts Open crown.

Humphries had to battle through both rounds to reach the decider. He first beat William O'Connor 6-3 in a scrappy quarter-final, recovering from some missed doubles before pulling clear late on.

Gerwyn Price then provided a much tougher semi-final test. After the pair traded early breaks, Humphries began to take control with back-to-back ton-plus finishes of 105 and 104 before a 119 checkout moved him within one leg of victory. Price cut the gap to 5-4, but Humphries closed out a 7-4 win with a 71 finish on tops.

Littler's path was far more emphatic. He whitewashed Danny Noppert 6-0 in the quarter-finals with a 102.48 average, then carried that momentum into his semi-final against Michael van Gerwen.

An opening 11-darter, a 167 checkout on the bull and a 76 finish sent Littler 3-0 clear, and although Van Gerwen briefly stemmed the flow, another 11-darter helped Littler reassert control. He eventually sealed a 7-3 victory with a 106.64 average to set up the first European Tour final between the pair.

Littler immediately carried his semi-final momentum into the title match, opening with a 180 before holding throw and then punishing six missed Humphries doubles to break for 2-0.

Humphries responded in trademark fashion. A 110 checkout on double 18 broke the Littler throw before finishes of 88 and 92, the latter completed with two double 18s, suddenly put the defending champion 3-2 ahead.

Littler levelled on double five and Humphries briefly regained the lead with an 85 checkout, but another swing followed. Littler broke with 54 for 4-4 before producing arguably the finish of the final, taking out 130 on the bull immediately after Humphries had fired in a 180 to leave four. A last-dart double 10 extended Littler's advantage to 6-4 before he made it four consecutive legs to move within one of the title.

Humphries was not finished. Two 180s powered an 11-dart hold to cut the gap to 7-5, and three successive visits of 60 from Littler then opened the door for another break as Humphries pinned tops to move within a single leg.

The defending champion had his chance to complete the comeback after Littler missed a match dart during a 164 attempt, but two darts at double 16 went begging. Littler returned to the oche and found double 10 to finally end Humphries' resistance and seal an 8-6 victory.

After six months away from the European Tour, Littler's return ended with another trophy, his 30th PDC title and a first European Tour final victory over Humphries.
