The Netherlands booked their place in the last eight of the World Cup of Darts with a comfortable 2-0 win over Poland.

World number one Michael Van Gerwen got the ball rolling for the Dutch seeing off the dangerous Krzysztof Ratajski 4-2. MVG always seemed to have the tie in hand and sealed the win over the Polish number one with a double 10.
And that set the stage perfectly for Wattimena. The Machine Gun seems to be adapting to the World Cup stage perfectly seeming the better of the pairing in their opening win over Spain. And he carried that form into today, seeming like he enjoyed himself as he beat Tytus Kanik.
Kanik made the better start, taking a 1-0 lead in a bid to take the tie to the pairs deciders where so many people have come unstuck in the past.
But Wattimena settled, and quickly took the lead with a 88 checkout, after Kanik went seven darts into the perfect nine. And from then out it was one way traffic. Wattimena taking out 92 after Kanik missed two at double 16 to make it 3-2.
And that sparked celebrations for the Dutch pair, in the end easing past a tie that could have proved problematic, and that was shown in the celebrations of both Van Gerwen and Wattimena.
