Gary Anderson offered some interesting reaction after making the PDC World Championship quarter-finals.
The two-time world champion scraped past Chris Dobey in an Ally Pally thriller. After his
PDC World Championship clash, Anderson shared his thoughts on the game. It quickly turned into a tirade against an increase in what he perceives to be gamesmanship and bad attitudes. "If you win, you win. If you lose, you go home and spend time with the family. It's as simple as that," the Scot told . "There's too many grown-up adults that play darts, that spit their dummy out. "There's no need for it. They should count themselves lucky."
"It's a joke"
Anderson himself was favoured by fortune as he beat Dobey 4-3 in London. That came after an almost identical victory over Jermaine Wattimena. The Flying Scotsman had plenty of praise for his opponent, but again talk turned to recent controversies.
"I was lucky tonight, again," he mused.
"That's how darts should be.
"The last few months has been a joke. I think the PDC, the DRA, everyone needs to have a look at what actually goes on."
Conduct complaint
In a controversial Grand Slam final, Anderson lost to Gerwyn Price. The game was blighted by a number of
incidents in which Price's stage antics riled up the 48-year-old. It clearly left a mark on Anderson, who issued an indirect jibe at unnamed darting peers.
"This isn't the game that I started playing 24 years ago. Some of it's a joke," Anderson complained.
"A boy says 'no, I don't do that (gamesmanship)' - you know what? They're liars. Just play darts. If you lose, shake your opponent's hand and wish them all the best. Easy as that!"
