Aspinall comes from behind to see off Petersen and reach PDC World Darts Championship Quarter-Finals

Nathan Aspinall is through to the Quarter-Finals at the PDC World Darts Championship for the first time coming from two-nil down to see off Devon Petersen who himself has been one of the stars of the tournament.

Despite the fact that he came back, Aspinall still was taken to a tie-break; but 'The Asp' held his nerve to come through in a thriller. He will be pleased knowing that in the quarter he's in that it might not be the end of the round; his ground breaking run could as a result continue even to the final. Petersen cruised to the first two sets with 67% on the doubles after two sets punishing 17% on the doubles from Aspinall. He was mightily unlucky in the next set as he had a bounce out when going for an 80 checkout; which allowed his opponent to claim a first set. That seemed to be the turning point as he went on to claim the next two sets leaving Petersen in all kinds of trouble after he should have been in the winners' enclosure. Petersen stopped the rot in the next set winning it 3-1 to force a deciding set. This went all the way to a tie-break; but this did not work in Petersen's favour with Aspinall coming through to face either Benito van de Pas or Brendan Dolan. for more information about the PDC World Darts Championship, including schedules and the prize fund breakdown.
