Nathan Aspinall continued the evening session by smashing James Wade 6-1. 'The Asp' averaged 92 nearly ten more in the averages than Wade who is now out of contention for the European Championship to continue a poor year for 'The Machine' while Aspinall goes from strength to strength.
Chris Dobey had more of a harder task against Host Nation qualifier Robert Allenstein, Dobey was 5-2 up and seemingly cruising but Allenstein fought back but succumbed in the end losing 6-4 to 'Hollywood' who now goes onto face Jelle Klaasen in Round 2.
Following that was another nail-biter with Andy Boulton defeating Kevin Painter in a deciding leg 6-5 to move through to round 2. X-Factor didn't have it easy in that decider with 'The Artist' missing 3 match darts and now Boulton faces Daryl Gurney tomorrow fresh off his World Grand Prix victory.
Jan Dekker was the last man into Round 2 whitewashing his fellow countryman Christian Kist. The player known as 'Double Dekker' will face Mervyn King tomorrow after a good 99 average with his opponent visibly nursing an arm injury which led to a 66 average for 'The Lipstick'.
Nathan Aspinall (92.18) 6 (11) 1 (83.19) James Wade
Chris Dobey (85.27) 6 (11) 4 (86.83) Robert Allenstein
