Cross admitted despite the Premier League being a brilliant experience, it was something he had to deal with quite quickly and he was disappointed not to bring his A game to the O2. He has said though that he believes it will come back and that he is far from the finished article in terms of his game. He told Live Darts: "It was always the plan to getaway with the family straight after the O2 - I needed some family time. "I already feel much fresher having time with the wife and kids, we’ve had a really good chilled out time. "The Premier League has been an incredible experience but being away so much for four months really takes its toll. "It's something I need to learn quickly to deal with and the last few months have been a whirlwind, but it's all good. "I'm obviously disappointed not to have brought my A game to The O2. That game hasn't really appeared much this year at all which is a bit frustrating. "But it's still there and it will come back. I was as green as the grass coming into the Premier League so in that respect it’s gone quite well. "I am a work in progress, far from the finished article just yet. I'm obviously busy which is a good thing but there’s a lot which I will learn this year. That will put me in good stead for next year. Cross will makes his World Cup debut next week and ‘Voltage’ admits he is buzzing to be representing England. He sees it as a big thing after previously watching Phil Taylor in the past. Cross added: "I am absolutely buzzing for the World Cup. It’s going to be an honour putting that England shirt on, just amazing for me. "It will be the first England shirt I’ve ever put on. A year ago I was watching Phil Taylor putting that shirt on and now it’s me. That’s such a big thing for me."
