Last weekend in Budapest saw the eleventh of fifteen tournaments on the PDC European Tour 2026. The Hungarian Darts Trophy title went to Ross Smith, his second European Tour crown of the year.

Thanks to his triumph at the Hungarian Darts Trophy, “Smudger” also takes over as leader on the European Tour Order of Merit. The top 32 after the PDC European Tour 2026 qualify for the European Championship, staged from 22-10-2026 to 25-10-2026 in Dortmund.
Smith now totals £125,000 in prize money and has opened up a £19,000 lead over second-placed Wessel Nijman. The 26-year-old Dutchman has already won two Euro Tours this year, but exited in the second round last weekend.
The top three on the European Tour Order of Merit is completed by Krzysztof Ratajski. The Pole won the European Darts Open last month, but also went out in the second round in Budapest. With £79,500 in prize money, Ratajski holds a £4,500 cushion over fourth-placed Nathan Aspinall, who made the semi-finals last weekend.

Anderson begins quest

Notable names currently outside the top 32 include Stephen Bunting (33rd), Michael Smith (35th), Daryl Gurney (36th), Gary Anderson (41st), Mike De Decker (45th), and Raymond van Barneveld (67th). Former winner Ritchie Edhouse also sits outside the provisional qualification spots for the European Championship in 50th place.
Albeit it is interesting to note that for Anderson, he is now 41st after not playing any European Tour this year really and now he will head to Prague next week, he has confirmed. He only played Budapest this week as he heard it was a nice place supposedly, but now he reached the final he confirmed that he will play next week.
