The European Tour finally returns after an absence between 28-30 August, 2026 with the Hungarian Darts Trophy set to take place at the MVM Dome in the city of Budapest, Hungary.

The Hungarian Darts Trophy will be the eleventh of fifteen PDC European Tour events on the 2026 PDC ProTour and will feature a field of 48 players and £230,000 in prize money with £35,000 for the winner. Niko Springer is defending champion having sealed the title in 2025 defeating Danny Noppert in the final to become the latest German European Tour winner.
It sees a return to action with ProTours going into the European Tour after the big names had a sojourn to Australia and New Zealand for the World Series. Beau Greaves also makes history by becoming the first woman to compete on the European Tour as her incredible year continues.
Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price as well as Gary Anderson are involved. Luke Littler as ever has decided against playing and has been on holiday as of late in America albeit has signalled that he will play ProTours in a bid to qualify for Minehead and has signed up for some European Tours towards the end of the season.

Preview Friday Hungarian Darts Trophy 2026

The Hungarian Darts Trophy marks the start of a busy autumn run on the PDC calendar, with the European Tour now moving into a crucial period ahead of the World Grand Prix and the major televised events that follow.
A strong field heads to Budapest for Friday's opening round, with a number of established names already in action across the two sessions. Kevin Doets opens the tournament against Jonas Masalin, while former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding faces Milan Biro.

Elsewhere in the afternoon, Niko Springer takes on Maik Kuivenhoven, Martin Schindler meets Keane Barry and Dave Chisnall faces Hungarian qualifier Andras Borbely. Ryan Joyce against Cristo Reyes is another intriguing contest, with both players looking to secure a place in Saturday's seeded second round.
The evening session carries the biggest headline of the opening day. Beau Greaves will make history as the first woman to compete on the European Tour when she faces former world champion Rob Cross.
Dirk van Duijvenbode and David Pisek open the evening, while Daryl Gurney takes on Laszlo Kadar and Joe Cullen faces Australian Tour Card holder Adam Leek. Niels Zonneveld meets home qualifier Nandor Major, Cameron Menzies faces Tom Sykes and Damon Heta closes the opening day against James Hurrell.
With Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gian van Veen, Jonny Clayton, James Wade, Stephen Bunting, Gary Anderson and Josh Rock all waiting as seeded players in round two, Friday's winners will immediately earn the chance to test themselves against some of the biggest names in the field.

The draw will be confirmed on the Thursday prior to the tournament starting so in this case 27th August at around 12pm BST/13 CET and will see the top 16 ProTour players face the qualifiers. The big names come in during round two.
