Rob Cross has begun the night's Premier League action in Manchester with a clinical victory over Michael Smith to keep his table topping hopes very much alive.

Cross smashed Smith 8-1 in an excellent victory which saw him average 102.5 with five 180's and 57 percent on the doubles as he sent a message out to the rest of the top 4.
He started off proceedings the way he meant to go on with checkouts of 101 and 78 to open up a 2-0 lead. He then hit his first 180 with a 71 checkout at the end to make it 3-0.
'Voltage' from there went into an easy 5-0 lead converting double two with 'Bully Boy' having double woes with 0/4 at this point for the St Helens thrower.
He finally got off the mark at 5-1 down with a 68 checkout averaging 94 at the time but from there Cross didn't panic and didn't allow him another leg. This was underlined with an 11 darter for a 7-1 lead followed by the winning leg to cap off a near complete performance.
