Eric Bristow makes yet another betting gaffe

Not such a 'Crafty Cockney' after all.
Eric Bristow will go down as one of darts' biggest legends. The five-time world champion picked up bagfuls of trophies in his long career. He can also take some credit for the meteoric rise of his protegee, Phil Taylor. But in the betting world, Bristow doesn't have the consistent success he enjoyed at the oche.
In October, the always outspoken Bristow bragged that he had placed £3,300 on Real Madrid to beat Tottenham at home in the Champions League. He announced on Twitter that the bet would win him £1,200, and was "easy money". The Champions League holders could only draw 1-1.

This time, though, Eric was on to a winner. In early December, he backed seventh seed Adrian Lewis to win the World Championship at 33/1. His one complaint? That he didn't do it earlier. Jackpot didn't land Bristow the jackpot, though. The two-time world champion was stunned in the first round by preliminary round qualifier Kevin Munch. I'd say 'stick to punditry' Eric, but, well...
