The second session of action at the European Darts Grand Prix begins shortly in Sindelfingen with some quality matches coming up in the first round.

It all kicks off with 'The Dutch Destroyer' Vincent van der Voort who will take on Dave Prins. Van der Voort has had a pretty good start to the year and plays in his second European Tour event of the year at the European Darts Grand Prix.
Following that is arguably one of the matches of the night between Chris Dobey and Madars Razma. Dobey of course was installed as a Premier League contender earlier this year and Razma is one of the leading lights from the Nordic and Baltic region so it should be a quality but quite close affair.
Dragutin Horvat makes his return to the European Tour and his previous pedigree on the tour he could pose problems for Gavin Carlin but Carlin has shown himself to be one of the best players to come out of Q-School this year so it should be an interesting contest.
Jeffrey de Zwaan is then in action. 'The Black Cobra' has been one of the most in form players this year and he has an open paper quite easy opener in the form of Stefan Bellmont who came through a diminished field in the West/South Europe Qualifier.
Keegan Brown will then face off against another Host Nation Qualifier in Daniel Klose who will be making his debut. Klose saw off the likes of previous European Tour participants, Steffen Siepmann and Christopher Haensch in qualification.
Then in another of the top matches, Steve Beaton will face Stephen Bunting. Both players have been in really good form this year with Beaton once again continuing his 100 percent record so far this year on the European Tour. Expect potentially a close one between this pair.
Jamie Hughes who has been probably the most unluckiest darts player this year is in the penultimate game of the day. 'Yozza' has hit numerous massive averages just to be beaten this year and he will be hoping that this weekend is finally the one that he can put it right. He will face Ricardo Pietreczko who previously made an appearance last year on the European Tour at the International Darts Open.
Finally in another cracker, Ryan Searle will take on Glen Durrant. Both players similar to the other stand outs have played well so far in patches this year and this should produce the high scoring to end the night in Sindelfingen.
Michael van Gerwen is the defending champion at this tournament. The world number one defeated James Wade in the final last year. Both players are among the seeds at the upcoming edition and will enter the European Darts Grand Prix in the second round. Mervyn King (2014), Kim Huybrechts (2015) and Peter Wright (2017) are the other winners of this European Tour event in the past.
