Ted Evetts will take part in the World Championships for the first time after defeating
Chris Quantock 5-2 in the
PDPA World Championship qualifiers. Evetts sunk two 180s and a 174 on his way to the win, which was sealed with a 25 checkout. He will face top seed
Brendan Dolan for the right to play in the first round of the Worlds, after they beat
Jamie Lewis 5-4 in Milton Keynes. Lewis missed a host of match darts in the eighth leg, allowing Dolan to fight back to force a deciding leg. The Northern Irishman kept his cool to take out 67 and claim an Ally Pally spot. The winner enters the first round, while the loser of the final will take on Croatian Alan Ljubic in the preliminary round.
Quantock and Lewis will still have a chance to reach the Ally Pally, as they take part in the third-place playoff. The winner will take on Belgian Kenny Neyens in the preliminary round.
