Ted Evetts and Chris Quantock will face off for a guaranteed place at the 2018 World Championships in the PDPA qualifier semi-finals in Milton Keynes. Evetts landed double 2 to seal a 5-3 win over Jeffrey de Graaf, while Quantock completed a shock comeback to hold off Ron Meulenkamp. Quantock was 3-0 down but fought back, and checked out 86 to force a decider. The 26-year-old held his nerve to check out 61 and seal a meeting with Evetts. The tie means there will be at least one debutant out of the three PDPA qualifiers.
Brendan Dolan, the oldest of the quarter-finalists, crushed Ricky Evans 5-1 to seal his semi-final spot. Dolan, who has reached every World Championship since 2009, will get two chances to progress today. The two finalists will seal a place, as will the winner of a play-off between the two losing semi-finalists. Dolan will play Jamie Lewis, who defeated David Pallett.
